On the field of play, Bundoran went down in the first game to overall winners Naomh Naille, but beat local rivals Aodh Ruadh in their other game. The u-12s lost their Aerfort Dún na nGall Round 7 tie in a very high scoring game in Fintra last Friday. It’s not often a Bundoran team scores seven goals and still loses but unfortunately the Killybegs lads were even more prolific in front of the posts and won the game on a 6-16 to 7-7 score-line. The u-12s have a free weekend this week before travelling to Glenties to play Naomh Conall on Monday May 14th. The u-12s travel to Killybegs next Friday, April 27th. In the other game on Friday evening the under-16s – who with their distinctive banner featured frequently on the TV coverage of the National League final - went through their habitual slow star, trailing by 0-3 to no score within three minutes to Killybegs but were well ahead by 3-11 to 1-5 when the referee blew up 20 minutes into the second half because of fading light and awarded the game to Bundoran. With six victories out of six the boys have now qualified for the regional final, scheduled for Monday May 7th. In the interim they have one more fixture to complete, away to Dungloe on Friday May 4th.
The second round of the News and Views Town League will be played this Saturday in Gaelic Park, starting at the earlier time 9.30, because of the Feile blitz taking place afterwards. The first round was played last Saturday with North beating South in a 17 goal thriller and West narrowly edging out East in a tight contest that went right to the wire. In the first game North captain Shane Carr hit five goals as his side cruised to a 10-3 to 7-1 victory over Dylan Stuttard’s South team. Other scorers for North were Brendan Oates 2-1, Cian McEniff 1-2 and a goal each for Oran Gallagher and Conor Carty. For South Dylan Stutard found the net twice as did Daire O’Reilly, Timmy Govorov hit 2-1 and Conor McManus got the other goal. Scorers for West were Rory Malaniff 2-1 and a goal each for Timothy Charles Gordon Fisher and Hayley McGloin, while Niall Cullen, Calvin McCormack, Paul Murphy all coaled for East with Roderick McMorrow adding the point. Bundoran Bord na nOg Club Call - 2007 April 16th 2007 The u-12s lost their Round 4 tie, heavily, against Aodh Ruadh last Friday evening but got themselves sorted out to run Ardara very close losing out by three points 4-6 to 4-9. They are next out tomorrow, Friday April 20th, at home to Four Masters. The B game commences at 6.30 and the A game at 7.00.
The minor team started training last week and have their first game at home to Naomh Ultan on Wednesday April 25th. Despite the late start to training the team is backboned by players that have been training with the Seniors and Reserves as well as a smattering of u-16s and should give the Division 2 title a good run. The u-16s maintained their 100% record when they put in a storming second half performance, against the wind, to run out comfortable 3-22 to 3-7 winners in Ardara having been level at 0-11 to 2-5 at the break. The u-16s next game is at home to Killybegs in Gaelic Park next Monday April 23rd.

Bundoran Bord na nOg Club Call - 2007 April 9th 2007 The under-12s were well defeated by a very strong Dungloe side last Friday evening. This coming Friday, April 13th the u-12s play Aodh Ruadh in Ballyshannon. The under-16s had their fourth “win” on Monday, albeit not on the scoreboard when they were granted a walk-over by Aodh Ruadh in Fr Tierney Park. Next up they travel to Ardara next Monday April 16th. Four of the current Bundoran u-16 squad lined out for their county on Sunday in the Buncrana cup against Fermanagh with all except goal-keeper Ashley Mulhern getting on the scoreboard and each of them doing their club proud. The club’s fifth representative on the County panel, Gavin Croghan, hopes to make his debut this Thursday against Cavan in Templeport. The minors begin their campaign next Wednesday week, April 18th, with a home tie against Naomh Ultan.
